I took my dog for a walk recently on a local heath land and for my troubles I managed to catch an illness called lyme disease. This is a condition that I didn’t even know existed let alone knew was on right on my doorstep. It was easy to look the symptoms up on-line because the lyme disease rash that I had was so easily recognisable, a big ringed rash that looked just like a target. The first thing the wife wanted to know was is lyme disease contagious because we have a small child but fortunately it isn’t, it can be caught by both humans and animals but cannot be passed from one to another. The dog who had been rolling around on the floor was tick free so how I managed to get bitten walking on the path I don’t know.
