What is a Single Wing Formation?

July 30th, 2010 by admin

As a football parent, I try to keep up with all of the lingo and plays. But sometimes, it isn’t easy. This week, I had the kids explain a single wing formation. I found out that this offensive set up is used when the quarterback is going to have the ball tossed back to him instead of the usual hand to hand exchange. The kids pointed out that when you look out onto the field with the players all lined up, it looks like they make the shape of one wing. When it comes to sports and kids, there is always something to learn.
