Literacy and Orality

Many people think that sometimes literacy can take away from orality. Literacy Does Not Erase Orality. Both of the skills can build one another. Some may think that kids that dive deep into books may have deficiencies in their verbal skills if they insist on reading all of the time. But normally when a kid is reading, they are also building their verbal abilities. It’s important to make sure kids do equal amounts of reading and talking so that they don’t run into social issues. But one does not erase the other. They can grow successfully together. Just make sure there is a balance.
