My girlfriend and I were heading to the lake with a few of our friends who are couples and we decided that it made more sense to get a house for our taupo accommodation instead of all paying individually for rooms. We had obviously left it too late because we couldn’t find a suitable house that was available for that week. We were back to drawing board so I started hunting around for an alternative. I found a really nice hotel that was not far from the lake and they had rooms available for all of us. The manager was kind enough to do a deal for us seeing as we were booking a few rooms so it ended up being about the same as what a house would have been anyway.
